Although I am not native to Aiken, I absolutely love this town and community. Originally from Camden, South Carolina, I have lived in Aiken for almost 25 years. I received my undergrad degree from University of South Carolina - Aiken, and my graduate degree from Columbia College. This year marks my 20th year teaching. I have been fortunate enough to work in two other fabulous schools in 天美传媒, Aiken Elementary for 13 years, and Center for Innovative Learning for one year. Although my undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood, I am also certified in Elementary Education. Having taught 3rd and 4th grades for the majority of my career, this is my seventh year in fifth grade. When I'm not busy with school, I enjoy reading, college sports, traveling, and my family. I'm a huge animal lover and have three fur babies besides my three grown human babies.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. I'm looking forward to visiting beaches, playing with my pups, spending time with my family, and sleeping!! I know my pups, Brutus and Paige will be happy to go with us to the beach and, have me at home. (They're not spoiled or anything...) Another highlight of my summer will be to have the time to collaborate with other teachers to plan for next year.
